    • Maintains general ledgers for assigned properties, including monthly journal entries, income and expense accruals and GAAP adjustments as needed; performs detailed and high-level analysis as required on assigned properties and account relationships
    • Identifies potential budget variances; reviews discrepancies of financial information and or documentation; compiles statistical information in accordance with financial practices and regulatory requirements
    • Responsible for accounts payable and accounts receivable, cash receipts, payroll processing and bank reconciliations
    • Assists with preparations of annual financial statements including 1099s for clients
    • Processes and compiles a wide variety of financial information for work assignments; updates and distributes information and/or complies with established accounting practices by providing required documentation
    • Comfortable using strong communication skills when handling inquiries from a variety of sources; works with several parties to provide guidance and information regarding the initial inquiry
    • Informs other staff regarding procedural requirements while adhering to financial compliance within practices, also evaluates alternative means of treating transactions
    • Creates and maintains client relationships by ensuring work is completed in a timely manner and collaborates with the other team members to perform in line with client expectations
    • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, participating in professional organizations




    • At least six to eight years of experience working in accounting
    • Experience in real estate/ property accounting
    • Bachelor’s degree in the Financial/Accounting field
    • Strong current knowledge of GAAP and basic accounting functions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable
    • Ability to multi- task between responsibilities, prioritize and handle multiple requests
    • Ability to work independently and maintain client relationships
    • Strong analytical ability
    • Excellent Communication Skills both verbal and written
    • Intermediate to Advance Excel skills
    • Must have excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to get the job done, especially when important deadlines cause greater than normal departmental pressures
    • Working either in our main office or at a client’s location
    • Travel up to 25% and on short notice, including travel to NYC
    • Hours may fluctuate based upon Client’s need
