Pine Hill Group is a leading operationally-focused finance and accounting consultancy and M&A advisory firm, which provides a myriad of financial, accounting and pre- and post-closing M&A services to small to middle-market public and private companies, private equity firms, investment banks, and accounting firms.


  • Prepare and provide business and intangible asset valuations for mergers and acquisitions, financial reporting, and tax purposes; such activities could include purchase price allocations, goodwill and other intangible asset impairment testing, stock compensation, gifting and estate planning, and litigation support
  • Draft the scope of work for engagements, oversee daily activities, assume responsibility for quality control and accuracy of client deliverables, and effectively manage risk associated with engagements
  • Identify issues and propose strategies related to the executed procedures
  • Adopt a leadership role in reporting and detailed financial modeling and analysis, including preparation and review of discounted cash flow analysis, Black-Scholes models, and Monte-Carlo simulations
  • Create and sustain positive, productive, and professional relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Supervise and mentor staff; provide timely and effective performance feedback and training
  • Assist partners on proposals and identify new business opportunities; collaborate with other PHG practices to build cross-functional relationships
  • Leverage current technology, resources, and tools to enhance the efficacy of services
  • Own multiple, complex engagements, often with little to no supervision


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business from an accredited college/university; CFA, ASA, ABV and/or CPA is a plus
  • At least 5-7 years of valuation experience working for a business valuation firm, a valuation practice within a public accounting firm, or in a M&A/corporate finance role; client services experience highly preferred
  • Strong current knowledge of GAAP and accounting standards, such as ASC 820, 805, 718, 350, 360, and IRC 409A
  • Strong modeling and data analysis skills, including building models from scratch
  • Excellent client management, communication, and leadership skills, managing expectations and delivering high quality solutions, timely and within scope and budget
  • Ability to manage projects against budget and provide sound guidance to team members to confirm the completion of work deliverables
  • Must have excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to get the job done, especially when important deadlines cause greater than normal departmental pressures
